Gods Own Junkyard Wedding Photographer, Katie and Phil

Well, when we got an invite to join an EPIC celebration as Gods Own Junkyard wedding photographers at The Blitz Factory there was NO WAY we could say no! Katie and Phil had an absolute neon extravaganza planned, and as soon as we met them, we knew we had to be there!

Gods Own Junkyard and The Blitz Factory have a crazy collection of the most awesome neon signs from across the world, a feast for the eyes and just the most mind-blowing venue for such a cool couple to get married! Enjoy the riot of colour, laughter, and absolute joy in the highlights from their unique and totally amazing day.

Getting married at Gods Own Junkyard

Katie and Phil had fallen for our signature style and the way we capture emotion and fun in vibrant, energetic images, they knew it would suit their day perfectly. We were super excited to capture their day and create some amazing Gods Own Junkyard wedding photography at their Blitz Factory wedding.

Both Katie and Phil got ready at home, supervised by Larry, Katie’s Mum’s sausage dog, who was very much enjoying being the centre of attention! Even before arriving at the venue, you could see how much they love colour in their home décor, including their amazing rainbow stairs. Katie’s stunning deep blue alternative wedding dress was hired from Gigi’s Dressing Room, and she looked so happy, confident and comfortable wearing it – it was the perfect choice for her.

Getting to know them as a couple helped us to understand everything that was most important to Katie and Phil. They wanted photos of everyone smiling, laughing and enjoying themselves, whilst surrounded by awesome neon colour.

“Life is love. And you can see the love in every picture. It’s hard to capture those moments but your photos make it look effortless” Katie and Phil - Gods Own Junkyard Wedding

Love and Emotion – Blitz Factory Wedding

Throughout the fun and laughter of the day there were emotional tributes to Katie’s father, Bob, who sadly passed away during the pandemic. The love and heartfelt words of their ceremony and everyone’s speeches were like a huge hug, and it was really emotional to see people raise a glass to Bob as part of their celebrations.

Speaking of hugs, if there was a competition for the most hugs at a wedding, I think this one might take the crown! Our relaxed style of photography meant we could blend in with their guests and just let the magic happen, capturing unposed, unfiltered and totally authentic moments of genuine happiness. This is why we love what we do!

 Alternative wedding photographer

Our focus as alternative wedding photographers is to capture non-traditional celebrations in all their awesomeness. Forget about what is expected and have a day that is as unique as your life together – we love photographing all the real stuff, partying with you and your friends, and capturing how it felt to be part of your wedding day.

Delicious food for the evening was provided by Chop and Chip, and The London Lightbox photobooth was a big hit with the guests too! To say it was a brilliant experience would be a huge understatement, it was a bright, relaxed and non-traditional day, packed with fun and laughter from start to finish. Truly a wedding we will never forget!
