Kingston wedding – Katie and Giles

Kingston wedding

These two are fab! We absolutely loved being a part of their very relaxed, hugely fun and entertaining London wedding.

It was such a chilled out morning. While Katie and her friends chatted away as they did their hair and makeup Giles and the rest of the boys were out in the garden enjoying the sunshine. Their inquisitive cat was very intrigued by the camera and ended up having a mini photo shoot, haha!

As Katie was getting into her stunning dress – from one of my favourite bridal shops, the White Closet in Didsbury – Giles was suited, booted and sipping a pint in the pub! The life of a groom eh! Don’t feel too sorry for Katie though, there was plenty of fizz on hand for them to enjoy!

After a short, but sweet, wedding ceremony at Kingston registry office it was time to shoot some portraits. Like the rest of their day Katie and Giles were keen for documentary, in the moment shots rather than spending hours posing so we just went for a walk around Kingston. Our aim was simple: get some lovely, chilled out pictures and end up at their reception venue. It was pure coincidence that we ended up walking past the building that they work in – which is also the place that they met! We had to take some pictures outside there, it’s a key part of their love story!

The Spring Grove is a pub right in the heart of Kingston. It’s got a brilliant atmosphere and was the perfect place for Giles and Katie’s reception. All their guests were outside in the beer garden, it was a warm, sunny day so the tables had been set up out there ready for an al fresco meal. The speeches were hilarious, especially the final speech when, to everyone’s surprise, a group of Giles’ friends jumped to their feet. They donned some rather quirky hats, his best man pulled out a guitar and they all sang a specially composed song. It was amazing! I’ve still got it stuck in my head now!

Due to COVID restrictions Katie and Giles weren’t able to have a first dance, but they didn’t let that spoil the party. Everyone spent the evening out in the beer garden, drinking, enjoying each other’s company and celebrating the fab Katie and Giles. We were also blessed with an incredible golden hour. Love it!
