A traditional and fun wedding with the biggest party Dorset has ever seen, captured in 10 Castle Street wedding photography, by Reportage Studios.
10 Castle Street Wedding Photography
In the beautiful Dorset countryside just outside Cranbourne village, you’ll find an exclusive venue filled with luxury décor, character, and historic charm. 10 Castle Street is a beautifully symmetrical, Palladian-style Grade II listed building, surrounded by ancient woodlands. They sure know how to host a party too; the country mansion has a long history of extravagant events and celebrations dating back to the 18th century.
Weddings at 10 Castle Street can enjoy exclusive use of the property and surrounding grounds, with a marquee on the lawn to host even the largest gatherings. The luxury hospitality will wow your guests and the venue’s beauty creates an idyllic backdrop for 10 Castle Street wedding photography – we love it!
Liberty and Julius’ wedding at 10 Castle Street
We joined Liberty and Julius as their 10 Castle Street wedding photographers, capturing their ceremony at All Saints Church in Poole, and their country mansion wedding reception surrounded by their amazing family and friends.
Liberty got ready with the girls at her family home near Poole, while Julius and the boys were in a suite at 10 Castle Street. We love the excitement of morning preparations, and with Liberty being in the place where she grew up it was extra special. The girls were laughing together and enjoying a few glasses of fizz and yummy pastries while make-up artist Sarah Mahoney and The Industry Hair Salon were in charge of getting their glam on! Meanwhile, Liberty’s dad was busy ironing and adding the finishing touches to some flower arrangements (and doing a great job of it!).
Meanwhile, Julius was getting into his suit from Hawes and Curtis, and groomsmen looked the part in their outfits from Moss Bros. The décor at 10 Castle Street, with wood panelling and portraits on the walls, created a cool, traditional backdrop for their photos in the morning.Liberty’s beautiful wedding dress, by Suzanne Neville, had long sleeves, an elegant low back with button details, a huge bow, and a flowing train. She looked timelessly beautiful and had a huge smile on her face throughout the whole day. Before heading off for the church in a classic Rolls Royce, we grabbed a few photos of her and the girls in front of the house. The bridesmaids wore gorgeous satin gowns from Ghost and a pop of colour was added with pink blooms and foliage in Liberty’s bouquet made by Julia, The English Garden Florist.
Church ceremony near Poole
Liberty and Julius got married at a church close to their hearts, their ceremony was super personal, with some added surprises in the form of a brilliant rendition of ‘Get me to the church on time’ performed by some talented family members. Then it was time for huge handfuls of confetti to be grabbed from wooden baskets and the couple almost disappeared in the snow drift of petals! The confetti photos were really important to Liberty, and the guests understood the assignment!
Liberty and Julius headed off in the car with a bottle of bubbly, while guests boarded vintage double-decker buses to 10 Castle Street, equipped with snacks and cans of gin and tonic for the journey.
10 Castle Street wedding photographers
After their bus ride, everyone gathered on the terrace at 10 Castle Street to enjoy canapes and drinks. We captured photos of everyone chatting, laughing and enjoying the sunshine as well as some shots of the marquee with banquet-style seating decorated with flowers thanks to family friend Pip Middleton.
We took the wedding party for a little walk in the grounds to capture group portraits, we love the moments between the more formal photos. The posed shots are often considered ‘must-haves’ for the mantelpiece, but the real fun and best memories of the day come from the relaxed and fun interactions between shots. Family photos were also gathered quickly in front of the garden gateway, with lush foliage and historic landscaping in the background.
As everyone went to take their seats in the marquee, Liberty and Jules had a short walk around the gardens before heading in to be announced as husband and wife. Guests waved napkins and cheered for them, with a few tables getting the party started with rounds of shots!
Entertainment and emotional speeches
The superstars of The London Function Band (we always get excited when we see them named on a list of suppliers for upcoming weddings!) provided the soundtrack between courses, they started some singalongs, early dancing and a few more shots. The whole atmosphere in the marquee was fun and happy, we felt so welcome and could really feel the love everyone has for Liberty and Jules.
Some animated and emotional speeches followed with dessert, giving us lots of laughter and reactions to capture in our signature relaxed, documentary-style photography. After some time to relax in the garden after their meals, everyone crowded around in the marquee for the newlyweds to cut their incredible wedding cake, made by another talented friend, Alison. Then their first dance was executed to perfection, with a daring dip to wow their guests!
Party of the century!
The evening party was unbelievable! The dancefloor was absolutely packed, people were showing off their very best moves and singing at the top of their voices. The London Function Band are experts at this, we recommend them to everyone for their ability to create some of the best dancefloor moments we have ever seen! The bride and groom were lifted in the air, and Jules was singing along using one of the draped festoon lights as a microphone. At one point the bridesmaids grabbed the real microphones too!
It was such a brilliant, crazy evening and we love the photos of all the fabulous party people loving every second. We were pleased to be reunited with some of the partygoers when we captured a friend’s farm wedding in Dorset after they’d seen Liberty and Jules’ wedding photos!
