Incredible views, stunning sunset, authentic story captured by Janina & Jawad , Amalfi Coast Wedding Photographer.
Perched on the cliffs off Italy’s breathtaking Amalfi Coast, Positano is the perfect mix of romance and adventure. With its pebble beaches, winding streets lined with cute boutiques, and the iconic Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta, it’s a dream spot for any couple looking to tie the knot. The adventurous can even take on the Sentiero degliR Dei hiking trail for those epic coastal views.
Looking for Amalfi Coast wedding photographers who’ll capture your Positano elopement or big wedding day in a way that’s real, authentic , emotional, and totally non-traditional? That’s exactly what we do!
Rebecca and Danny Positano Wedding
We had the absolute pleasure of photographing Rebecca and Danny’s stunning Positano elopement. We didn’t just show up on the wedding day as strangers. Nope—we met these two the night before for a sunset boat trip, which was fantastic and magical.
Positano Wedding Photography
Rebecca and Danny’s elopement was all about embracing the moment, with the stunning backdrop of the Positano cliffs and Hotel Marincanto. Their intimate ceremony at the Positano Register Office was meaningful and filled with love. Plus, the date was extra special for Rebecca, as it was the same day her parents had been married—a beautiful way to honor them after their passing a few years ago.
When it comes to photographing weddings on the Amalfi Coast, we’re all about capturing the real moments—the laughter, the nerves, the joy that fills the air. We don’t do stiff, posed portraits. We focus on the emotions, the connections, and the little moments that tell your story in the most authentic way. We want you to look back and not just see your wedding day, but feel it all over again.
Shoutout to the amazing team that helped make Rebecca and Danny’s day perfect: Alessandro Mancino studios (Naomi) for nailing Rebecca’s makeup, and Giovanna Damato for planning it all flawlessly
Getting Married on Amalfi Coast?
Planning a wedding on the Amalfi Coast? Get ready for the ultimate dream day in one of the most stunning locations on the planet! From cliffside vows to sunset receptions, allowing you and your guests to experience the beauty and romance of this breathtaking location. Here are 10 tips to help you nail the perfect celebration, complete with your own vibe!
1. Pick the Perfect Time to Say “I Do”
- Sweet Spots: May, June, September, and October give you sunny days without the swarms of tourists. You’ll get all the gorgeousness of summer, minus the crowds. July is wonderful too but I would recommend late afternoon , evening ceremonies for sure.
- Skip Peak Heat: Trust me, no one wants to be melting into their tux at your wedding. Aim for the cooler months to keep things breezy and beautiful! Forget midday ceremony, afternoon is best.
2. Nail Down Your Budget with Style
- Luxury Spot: Yes, Amalfi is on the posh side, but that just means your wedding will be next-level glamorous! Plan your budget carefully and splurge on the things that matter most to you.
- Prioritize: Want that iconic cliffside villa? Go for it, but you can cut costs elsewhere (like ditching those fancy chair covers, no one will miss them!).
3. Bring in a Local Wedding Planner – They Know ALL the Secrets
- Your Amalfi Insider: A local planner will be your secret weapon! They know the best spots for everything (and the hidden gems!). Plus, they’ll handle all the tricky Italian paperwork so you can chill.
- Hookups Galore: They’ve got the vendor hookups, meaning you’ll get the best deals without any of the stress.
4. Book That Dreamy Venue ASAP
- Popular for a Reason: Amalfi is a hotspot for weddings, so lock in your venue early! Think cliffside villas, chic beach clubs, or luxe hotels with sea views. Ravello and Positano are absolute stunners.
- Early Bird: The earlier you book, the better your chances of getting that jaw-dropping venue you’ve been drooling over on Instagram.
5. Make Sure Your Guests Get the VIP Treatment
- Transportation Vibes: The roads on the Amalfi Coast can be…an adventure. Book private drivers or shuttles for your guests to make it easy (and glam).
- Cute Accommodations: Block out hotel rooms or villas, so your guests don’t have to scramble. Let them know early—hello, Italian holiday!
6. Mix In Some Italian Wedding Traditions – Why Not?
- La Dolce Vita: Add a dash of local flair to your wedding. Try the “La Tarantella” dance, a round of Italian toasts, or serve up limoncello (it’s made right there!).
- Catholic Ceremony?: If you’re going the church route, make sure to check off all the paperwork (local planners can totally help with this).
7. Bring YOUR Amalfi Coast Wedding Photographer from the UK
- Capture Your Vibe: Italian photographers are great, but for the curiously unconventional, you want someone who gets you. Bring a photographer from the UK who understands your style, energy, your people and how to capture those playful, unscripted moments you’re after.
- It’s Your Day: Your wedding is all about your personalities, so having a photographer who speaks your creative language is key to capturing the real magic!
8. Feast Like Locals
- Italian Eats: You’re in foodie heaven, so serve up Amalfi Coast specialties like fresh seafood, homemade pasta, and local lemons (those limoncello shots are a must!).
- Custom Menu: Most venues will offer in-house catering, but if not, work with a local chef to create a drool-worthy menu full of Mediterranean goodness.
9. Have a Backup Plan for the Weather (Just in Case!)
- Outdoor Magic: Planning an alfresco ceremony? Always have a rainy day backup. That way, you’ll be stress-free if the weather doesn’t play nice.
- Sun Safety: If it’s a daytime wedding, think parasols, fans and suncream for guests. You want them to enjoy the sunshine, not fry in it!
10. Maximize the Amalfi Coast Experience
- Pre-Wedding Fun: How about a welcome dinner or a boat tour along the coast before the big day? Organise pizza party? Or sunset boat trip to local treasures. It’s a fab way to get everyone in the Italian spirit!
- Mini-Moon Goals: After the “I dos,” stay local for a mini-moon in Capri, Positano or Sorrento. Or, head to Naples for an extra dose of pizza and culture!
