Norton Grounds wedding photography – Phili and Sam

Choosing to have their wedding at Norton Grounds meant horse-lover Phili and vet Sam could be surrounded by gorgeous views, and Phili’s horse Tango was welcomed for a special guest appearance! Both bride and groom were able to get ready on-site, and Sam started the day by taking their dog for a walk too. We really enjoyed capturing their Norton Grounds wedding photography, it was an ideal mix of elegant touches, countryside charm, and an absolutely epic party!

Getting ready at Norton Grounds

Janina was with Phili and her bridal party, having a lovely morning together as their hair was perfected by Georgina Dempsey, and make-up artist Fabienne Bennett worked in the light flooding in through the glass-fronted barn conversion. They do have full-length blinds as well, so it never gets too toasty in the sun.

Outside, Phili’s dad was sitting on a bench in the fresh air, running through his speech – we love being able to photograph moments like this, important bits of the day that couples might not have seen for themselves. Phili wore a Martina Liana dress from Tilly Trotters Bridal Boutique, and an emotional first look with her dad had everyone welling up!

Once they were ready, Sam and his groomsmen took a walk through the picture-perfect Cotswold stone town to have a drink together in the pub before the ceremony, and Jawad joined them to document the fun. Phili and Sam specifically wanted Norton Grounds wedding photographers who could capture them getting ready separately, and this is how we always plan our days, so we can cover everything from start to finish.

 Wedding in Chipping Campden

Phili and her dad were met by the lovely priest of St James’ Church in Chipping Campden, who was waiting with Phili’s bridesmaids and flower girl at the gates to the churchyard. The church looked beautiful, with floral displays to match Phili’s bouquet made by Abbie Digweed, from Your Cotswold Florist

Their service was made really personal, with moments of laughter throughout, and plenty of smiles and happy tears from their friends and family. Once they were married, Phili and Sam were showered with confetti in the churchyard – Seriously, they got totally covered!

 Wedding at Norton Grounds

We returned to Norton Grounds and were greeted by Phili’s horse, Tango. It was really important for her to have some photos with Tango on her wedding day, and Tango celebrated by giving mum some wedding day kisses! Then it was time for drinks and canapes with their guests on the lawn.

As guests were called to sit for food, we took Phili and Sam for a quiet walk around the grounds, with the scenery and farm buildings creating a backdrop for us to capture some gorgeous Norton Grounds wedding photography. As they wandered back to their wedding breakfast Phili’s veil put on a show in the breeze for us – oh the drama! We love it!

 Evening party time

After their wedding breakfast and speeches, the couple enjoyed some well-earned drinks outside, including downing some shots with the groomsmen, which fuelled some very competitive croquet!

As if planning a wedding wasn’t enough of a task, Phili had made her own impressive wedding cake which was decorated with fresh flowers and a lucky horseshoe. They cut their cake at the perfect time, as the sun was illuminating that area of the barn and it looked stunning! Next up was their first dance, with lifts and spins that had everyone cheering and then piling in to join them on the dancefloor. The awesome All Lit Up Band got the party started, and before long everyone was up and showing off their best moves! Phili and Sam had opted for our unlimited package, which means we stay pretty much until the end of the evening, to capture all the party antics! Party images are always really popular, with the drinks, dancing, and someone always ends up with a tie around their head! What an awesome day, and an epic night!
