Camp Katur wedding photography
Camp Katur wedding photography is all about surrounding authentic documentary moments with glimpses of the incredible woodland, gorgeous golden hour, and epic scenery. Our experience at this vast site means we’re familiar with the little paths and shortcuts, and we’ll still catch up with you and the venue team beforehand to ensure we’re in the right places at the right times. Working as a duo here is incredibly important, there’s so much to see and we want to capture the magic of all the little elements of the day that run simultaneously.
“Thank you for capturing our amazing day (and for being all round superstars!) we loved having you both there.”
Our newest wedding photography package tells your entire story as we join you across the weekend of celebrations, from pizza night before the big day with your besties, to the post-wedding walk in the woods and chilled BBQ. The idea for the weekend package started with our work photographing weddings at Crear in Scotland, and it’s becoming more and more popular with couples looking to capture their extended wedding celebrations.
Laura and Tom’s Camp Katur wedding
Laura and Tom are an outdoorsy, Yorkshire-born couple who met at uni and now live in London. Coming back to the countryside for a private woodland wedding in the Dales was really important to them, and they had clear ideas on how they wanted their Camp Katur wedding photography to be captured. Tom’s passionate about street photography and documentary moments, and our award-winning signature style was exactly what they’d hoped to find. We hit it off right from our first conversation, and we couldn’t wait to join them on their wedding day.
“The photos are honestly perfect.. Can’t wait to share them with everyone! I’m going to be recommending you to anyone who needs a photographer from now on!”
We arrived early to capture their pre-wedding pizza night, familiarise ourselves with Camp Katur, and check out the locations for each part of Laura and Tom’s wedding day. Janina joined Laura and her bridal party as they got ready in Lyra Lodge, a luxurious woodland hideaway with huge windows, private decking and a very inviting hot-tub! Hair was expertly styled by La Belle Vous, while superstar make-up artist, Ash Fehners from Bridal by Ash perfected dreamy, natural make-up looks.
Meanwhile, Jawad was with the boys in the quirky Cosmo Geodome as Tom got into his suit from Casual Fitters and shoes from Duke and Dexter, whilst enjoying the views across the fields. The boys then paraded through the woodland with drums and music (and huge smiles on their faces) into the clearing in the woodland for the ceremony.
Woodland wedding at Camp Katur
The Woodland Chapel had been decorated with drapes and arrangements by Florist, Chris Wallace, in vibrant colours to match the multi-coloured bunting strung between branches. Tom’s Best Man had even composed a song for Laura to walk down the aisle, as a surprise to everyone on the day. The dappled sunlight through the trees and the dense foliage of ferns surrounding their guests created an ethereal atmosphere for their ceremony, it was gorgeous!
Flower petal confetti and bubbles rained down on the newlyweds as they exited as husband and wife, executing the most beautiful dip and kiss (much to the delight of the surrounding guests!). There were hugs (and some squeezed cheeks!) as everyone took a short walk from the woodland to enjoy drinks and canapes before a super social feast in the Hay Barn.
Sociable, foodie wedding feast
Laura and Tom love cooking and hosting friends and family, and their wedding breakfast was an extension of this love. Babaganoush Dining served up an awesome feast, as everyone chatted and laughed together in the rustic Hay Barn. We were also provided with yummy treats, which kept us fuelled for the rest of the day. We can’t forget to mention their extraordinary wedding cake made by Kalilah Easton-Smith at Sweet Dreams Bakes. It was decorated with brightly coloured flowers to match their theme and was a total tower of deliciousness! Kalilah also provided charcuterie boards in the evening. At golden hour, we explored some of the woodland with Laura and Tom, enjoying a few quiet moments in the evening light to create some memorable portraits before heading back for their first dance and evening reception. The brilliant Under the Covers Band kept everyone on their feet and dancing. After two other bands had cancelled just a short time before the wedding, Laura and Tom hit the jackpot with this band, they were amazing! Then two of their guests hit the decks for DJ sets to extend the party vibes until midnight – it was an epic evening!
