Unscripted moments in an elegant setting full of rustic charm, captured by Eden Barn wedding photographers, Reportage Studios.
Eden Barn Wedding Photographers
This boutique venue is packed with elegant rustic charm and surrounded by 100 acres of Cumbria’s beautiful Upper Eden Valley. Eden Barn is a secluded gem, and we love capturing Lake District wedding photography here in our signature relaxed style. We always feel right at home in the lovingly restored 200-year-old Westmorland stone barn (and it’s not far from our homes either!). The owners’ daughter was the first to get married at Eden Barn, and since then they’ve shared it with more than 300 couples looking for a unique, atmospheric, and expertly run wedding venue.
If you love exposed stone, oak beams, and rustic styling then you are in the right place! The main barn can hold up to 144 guests for your ceremony and wedding breakfast, and you can get married outdoors under the pergola overlooking the scenic countryside too. There’s loads of outdoor space to relax with your guests and a covered terrace so you can still be outside even if the British weather wants to join the party!
Eden Barn wedding photography
We joined Caroline and Stephen to capture all the fun and emotion as their Eden Barn wedding photographers. They wanted unscripted, relaxed, and natural photos that would remind them of the joy of their wedding day – and that’s exactly what we love to do!
Caroline and her bridal party had loads of fun in the morning as they got ready with glasses of champagne, whilst wearing their matching floral pjs. Adrienne McCabe from Level 13 Hair Salon, and Make Up Artist, Emma Askew were busily working away all morning. Caroline’s Dad had been with her for all her dress fittings at The Harrogate Wedding Louge, so when it was time for her to get into her gown, he was on hand to help. The bridesmaids wore one-shoulder dresses in powder blue, from Dreamcatcher Bridal, with blue flowers also featuring in the bouquets and buttonholes from The Flower Farm.
Stephen and his groomsmen had breakfast and got ready at Kaber Chapel, about 10 minutes from Eden Barn. They had a few drinks together (and raised glasses online) and then headed off to meet the guests arriving by vintage bus. Even though it was raining everyone was still smiling as they waited for Caroline to arrive.
Getting married at Eden Barn
Caroline and Stephen were married in front of the cascading wall of fairy lights in the main barn, surrounded by gorgeous flowers and their lovely friends and family. They walked back down the aisle and were showered in dried petal confetti before celebrating with drinks, canapes, and lots of hugs with their guests.
We made the most of a short break in the rain to get some group portraits outside by the pergola and some photos of the newlyweds in front of the vintage bus. Meanwhile, the Eden Barn weddings team were quickly setting up the main barn for their wedding breakfast. The banquet-style tables meant everyone could enjoy chatting and catching up over a sociable feast from Southcott Events Catering, and the layout also gave guests a great view of the hilarious speeches after the meal.
Exploring the grounds for relaxed, romantic portraits
As the rain was still holding off, we took Caroline and Stephen for a short walk in the grounds for portraits. We like to do this quickly and calmly, giving our couples time to chat and relax together, without taking them away from the party for too long. There are loads of cute little features to capture in Eden Barn wedding photography, and we made the most of the tree-lined driveway, stepping stones, and a little bridge over the stream for some rustic and romantic shots.
As we returned, their guests were venturing outside to explore the garden and play with some of the lawn games hired from Sid and Olive. The covered terrace was also really popular, as even when it rained people could still enjoy the fresh air and countryside views.
Cake, music, and dancing into the night
Caroline and Stephen’s cake, made by Lindsay from Fairy Cakes North Yorkshire was made up of three tiers, each a different flavour of cake… now that’s the stuff of dreams! After their first dance, the party kicked off with music from Mad about Tomorrow keeping everyone on their feet, and later inspiring an epic conga line around the barn! What a day, and what a lovely couple – thanks Caroline and Stephen, and congratulations!
