Sasha and Patrick’s Healey Barn wedding photography was full of personality, odd socks, flowers from the garden and a funny celebrant ceremony. Rustic vibes, incredible Cripps and Co food

Sasha and Patrick’s Healey Barn Wedding
Every time I photograph a wedding at Healey Barn I get that little buzz of excitement. It is one of those venues that just works. The stone walls. The oak beams. The chandeliers. The courtyard that glows at sunset. Add firepits, unreal food, and a party space that feels alive and you have got the full package.
When Sasha and Patrick told me they were getting married there I was already in.
Sasha and Patrick’s story
Sasha is a doctor. Patrick is a history teacher. They met on Tinder which still makes me laugh because they are the perfect match.
From the start Sasha and I clicked. Same humour. Same love of tequila. Same way of talking about medicine for far too long. Photographing her wedding never felt like work.
Patrick wore odd socks. Not by accident. It is his thing. And because of that every single groomsman joined inand many guests. A sea of odd socks walking down the aisle. It was brilliant. It reminded me of my brother who used to do exactly the same. Seeing that detail felt strangely personal to me and made the whole day feel even more connected. Odd socks are never just odd socks. They are memory and connection. That is the power of photography. The small details that say so much about people. The kind of things that make you stop and think about why you do this job in the first place. I wrote more about that after a wedding I photographed in Poland. You can read it here: The Power of Photographs: How One Wedding Changed My Perspective Forever.
Photography has always been more than pictures to me. It is memory, emotion and story all rolled into one. Weddings are one of the few times in life when everyone you love is in the same place. To be trusted with that is a privilege. And it is why I care so much about what I do.

The flowers
All of the flowers at Sasha and Patrick’s Healey Barn wedding came from her mum’s garden. She grew them, cut them and arranged them herself. The whole barn was filled with flowers that had been cared for with love.
I think that is what made it feel so personal. Nothing shipped in. Nothing forced. Just beautiful flowers from her own garden. They sat perfectly against the rustic barn and brought even more warmth into the space. Those kind of details add true value and personal touch to Healey Barn wedding photogarphy.

A celebrant ceremony at Healey Barn
Sasha and Patrick chose a celebrant ceremony and I could not love that more. It was funny, personal, and full of the kind of moments that make guests laugh and cry at the same time.
Celebrant weddings always have a different energy. They feel relaxed, real and completely about the couple. I have seen this time and again, whether it was at Dunskey Castle wedding in Scotland, Cornhill Castle wedding or Inn on the lake wedding photography in Lakes district. Sasha and Patrick’s ceremony at Healey Barn had that same spirit. Honest, personal and unforgettable.

Healey Barn weddings and why they work
The Long Barn is the heart of the venue. Stone walls. Oak beams. Chandeliers. Fairy lights. Candles. A fireplace that pulls the whole room together. You do not need to add much because it already has atmosphere. In winter you get underfloor heating and log fires. In summer the courtyard becomes the place everyone gathers. Guests drink, chat in the sunshine and later huddle around the firepits.
It is versatile without trying too hard. You can have 60 people outside in the courtyard or 140 inside the barn and it always feels intimate.
And the food. Cripps and Co never miss. Their food is always fabulous. Quality ingredients cooked perfectly and served with style. Sharing platters, generous portions and flavours that make people stop mid-conversation just to say how good it is. It is always just delicious. And yes I eat it. And yes I look forward to it.
Healey Barn wedding photography
From a photography point of view Healey Barn is a dream. The courtyard is perfect for confetti, groups and evening drinks.
The fields and woodland are there for portraits with a countryside backdrop.
The barns and candlelight give you atmospheric ceremony
The dancefloor is always full of energy.
The mix of natural light outside and warm candlelight inside makes it easy to move between the epic wide shots and the quiet close ups.

The party
I knew this lot would bring the party and they did. Tequila was involved. The dancefloor was packed. Plenty of questionable moves, singalongs and air guitar. Just how I like it.
My favourite part of the evening is always being right in the middle of it with my camera. You get the energy, the chaos and the laughter. With Sasha and Patrick’s crowd it did not take long before everyone forgot I was even there.
Why I love photographing at Healey Barn
Every time I leave I think the same thing. I could photograph here every weekend and never get bored. It is rustic without being too polished. It feels warm and welcoming. It is run by people who know what they are doing.
It is also one of those places where no two weddings look the same. Sasha and Patrick’s flowers from the garden. The odd socks. The tequila. The small details layered onto the backdrop of the barn. That is what makes it.
