When Becky and Becky got married, they celebrated with pizza, wine, karaoke and all their favourite people. We captured their relaxed and fun day in Nottingham city centre.
Becky and Becky, B1 and B2, Stella and Jolly, we can call them by a lot of names, and there’s a whole lotta love in this gallery. They were looking for Nottingham wedding photographers to capture the fun and emotion of their relaxed celebration filled with family, friends, and PIZZA… how could we say no?! We love weddings where the couple do exactly what they want and surround themselves with all of their favourite things, and a small circle of their favourite people.

Their awesome day in the centre of Nottingham, starting with getting ready at The Lace Market Hotel, followed by a few pre-ceremony drinks next door at The Cock & Hoop, and then the main event, their wedding at The Council House on Old Market Square. After that, it was a short walk across town to “Another? Wine Bar” for their reception with plenty of drinks, pizza, and karaoke!
Getting ready
The Lace Market Hotel is right in the centre of Nottingham, so no transport was required for the day as all of the venues were just a short walk from each other. B1 had a tea-length, embellished cape dress from Needle & Thread with epic heart print platform shoes, matching socks, and a pair of very special, meaningful earrings. B2 wore a suit from Twisted Tailor with red piped lining to match B1’s vibrant bouquet, which had been made by B2’s lovely sister, Rach.

B2 met some of the guests in the Cock & Hoop, the pub next door to the hotel, where they had a few quick drinks together before walking just around the corner to The Council House for the ceremony. B1 followed shortly behind with her dad; it’s amazing how calming a little walk can be before a wedding.
Wedding at The Council House Nottingham
B1 and B2 wanted to reserve some seats for special people who are no longer with them; they did this by placing meaningful trinkets on the chairs as a reminder of the people they love. B2 also carried photo pins inside her suit, keeping precious people close to her heart. We love these thoughtful, personal touches, which feel especially important when you look back at your photos and can see the symbols of the people you love, right there in the room with you. We know these are some of Becky and Becky’s favourite photos from their day too.
B1 walked into the ceremony room with her dad, and the whole room lit up with smiles. They got married in the cosy wood-panelled Lord Mayor’s Parlour, which was just the right size for their intimate gathering. They’d provided streamer wands for people to wave as they walked out as wives, which doubled as a confetti alternative as everyone gathered on the grand staircase around them.
Then, they popped up their umbrellas and took a stroll to the next venue through the streets of Nottingham city centre to Another? Wine Bar. This is something we love when working in cities and as Nottingham wedding photographers; there are so many options for reception venues to suit whatever vibe you are going for, all within walking distance.
Sweet treats and pizza at Another? Wine Bar
They didn’t want a formal dinner, so instead arranged for B2’s mum and sister to bake some of their fave sweet treats for everyone, which were waiting for them when they arrived at Another? Wine Bar. There were board games to play, and plenty of drinks to enjoy, and the room was buzzing with conversation and laughter.
“We just look so bloody happy!”
The plan was to keep things relaxed, so instead of formal speeches, they just invited people to say a few words if they wanted to, when the mood took them. This resulted in some super emotional, wonderfully personal dedications; they laughed, they cried, and there were hugs all round. After stepping outside for some group photos (which the local pigeons had to get involved in too!), it was time for Slice N Brew pizzas! The piles of boxes arrived, and soon everyone was tucking into delicious pizza – including us. Pizza is life, so we were super pleased with that!
We love finding creative photo opportunities as Nottingham wedding photographers, and with the pizza shop just across the road, it was too good to miss! The vibrant red background and neon pizza sign were ideal for some fun photos of B1 and B2 having snuggly newlywed moments together. We went on a really short walk around the local streets to get some fresh air and to capture some unposed, relaxed, creative portraits before heading back to the party. B1 and B2 really loved these photos from their gallery; they said they felt like cool album covers!
Dancing and karaoke
Their favourite thing to do together is turn up the volume on their best playlists and sing along when cooking together at home, so, of course, this was the vibe they wanted for their wedding. They danced, sang and partied with their favourite people, stopping only to top up their wine glasses and grab snacks from the overflowing evening cheeseboard. Everyone was so relaxed and at home in the cosy wine bar. The evening had a real house party feel to it, the kind of party you never want to leave… or accept the hangover from!
Becky and Becky’s day was well and truly ‘them’. Every decision they made for their wedding was focused on things that meant something to them, and the people they love most, exactly our kind of wedding!
