Chapter 2024

Wild and Wonderful chapter 2024

2024, what a year it’s been! It started in the best way possible—with the arrival of Rizzo, a tiny bundle of joy and absolute chaos, in the first few days of January. Equal parts mischief and cuddles, Rizzo wasted no time turning the house upside down, and honestly, I wouldn’t have it any other way. Starting the year with that much energy and a whole lot of tail wags felt like the perfect prep for the whirlwind that was 2024. Masters-results came out in January , more about Masters-later on.

Not long after, I was off to one of my favourite conferences for documentary wedding photographers, Doc Day, in Dublin. I came back buzzing with ideas, fired up, and ready to tackle the year ahead and for the first time I was part of Masterclass photowalk. What an honour to share knowledge especially that my reportage style is inspired by street photography. Then came Cornwall for the NineDots Great Escape retreat at Kilminorth Cottages. A bunch of wedding photographers, endless cups of tea (and a bit of wine), soggy shoes, fire pit, guitars and me clutching a coffee at 7am by the sea, pretending I wasn’t freezing. It was the perfect calm before the madness of 2024 properly kicked off.

And just so we’re clear—wedding photography isn’t all sipping coffee by the ocean and laughing with friends. I mean, if it were, I’d have retired by now as a professional tea-drinker extraordinaire. Alas, it turns out there’s also a fair bit of, you know, taking photos…

2024 Wedding Stories

One of the first summer weddings was Poppy and Sam’s magical day at Dewsall Court. This wedding had everything: laughter, tears, an epic dance floor—and one last bottle of champagne that Poppy and I may or may not have polished off together before the night officially ended. It’s moments like that—the unscripted, let’s-make-this-last-forever kind of moments—that remind me why I adore this job. It’s not just work for me; it’s the people, the connections, and the raw, unfiltered joy which helps us create authentic memories

This year also took us on countless adventures, including several trips to photograph as London wedding photographer. Some were for the most camera-shy couples you’d ever meet. Seriously, they warned me: we’re not camera friendly but by the end of the day, they were grinning ear to ear, saying the photos weren’t just their favourite wedding pictures but the best photos they’d ever had of themselves. That’s the magic of feeling comfortable, natural, and celebrated in front of the lens.

Scotland called us twice this year with its moody skies and rolling landscapes, which, honestly, never get old. And then there was Ireland—where I ended up not once, but twice. Once for a doc day and again in October for something called “Learn to Fly.” Let me tell you, Ireland has a way of making every moment feel alive—from windswept hills to wild dance floors. Oh, and I even managed to squeeze in a sea dip during the trip. Freezing? Absolutely. Worth it? Every single second. In September I went to Morocco to photograph wedding with my friend Nadine which made me hungry for more destination weddings.

2024 was a year of discovering new venues. From charming barns in Lancashire to chilled spaces in my favourite Lakes District , we joined at wedding in stunning Wyresdale Park and Camp Katur in Yorkshire which both stole our hearts. Each wedding this year brought its own unique feel and personality to the day. And then there were the late-night antics—spontaneous dance-offs, secret midnight shots, and those little moments of joy tucked in between all the big celebrations. These moments keep things fresh, and I can’t wait to see what new places 2025 will bring.

The year wrapped up on a high note with the NineDots Gathering—an incredible event that never fails to inspire. Sharing stories, learning from fellow photographers, and soaking in all that creative energy was just what I needed to reflect on the year. Finishing 2024 in the Top 10 of Masters of Wedding Photography UK & Ireland was the cherry on top. (Last year’s Photographer of the Year win still feels like one of those “did that actually happen?” moments.)

Looking ahead, 2025 is already shaping up to be unforgettable. We’re starting the year with great a wedding booking in Poland, where my brother is stepping in as the DJ. This is gonna be truly magical and that’s the reason bride chosen us, she wants suppliers who will love been part of their day as much as every guest. If that’s not amazing couple I don’t know what is. There are new stories to tell, new places to explore, and so many moments waiting to unfold.

To all the couples who trusted me to capture your 2024—thank you. You brought your energy, your laughter, your love, and your beautiful chaos to every frame. And to the couples of 2025 and beyond—I can’t wait to meet you, celebrate with you, and tell your incredible stories. Here’s to another year of joy, connection, and unforgettable moments. Let’s make it a good one.
