A Real, Joy-Filled Ridge Farm Wedding – 3 Days of Laughter, Love & Music History
Some weddings just hit different—and this Ridge Farm wedding was one of them. Not just because the setting was breathtaking (more on that in a sec), or the fact that I stayed on-site for three days with the bridal and groomsmen crew. But because this was one of those weekends where everyone felt like old friends by the end—and I was there, camera in hand, for every unscripted, emotional, hilarious moment.
Why Ridge Farm Wedding Is My Kind of Heaven
If you’ve never heard of Ridge Farm, it’s a dream venue tucked away in the Surrey countryside, known not only for its beautiful grounds and big relaxed vibes—but also for its insane music history. We’re talking Queen, Oasis, Roxy Music… everyone recorded here. So for someone like me, who lives and breathes storytelling and has a not-so-secret love for music, it really was the perfect backdrop.
This wedding wasn’t just a day—it was a three-day celebration, and I was lucky enough to be part of it all. That’s something we love to offer when couples want the full story documented, not just the big “I do.” And trust me—at Ridge Farm, the in-between moments are just as golden as the big ones.
A Photographer Bride, No Pressure Then…
Alix is actually a photographer herself (which I’ll admit gave me a bit of an oh crikey moment!). But she and George took six months to find the right fit, and I was genuinely honoured when they chose us. From our first chat, it felt easy—natural—and that vibe carried right through the weekend. I even got to see Mojgan Coulture dress (designed by herself ) before many!
They met online, fell hard, and planned a wedding that was all about joy, fantastic lifelong friends, family, and being totally, authentically themselves. And I am all about that.
Being “In-House” Of Ridge Farm Made All the Difference
From the first night’s matching-Chelsea Pears PJ welcome drinks (yes, I wanted a pair), to the poolside festival vibes on day three, I stayed with the couple and their closest people in the main house. We all were dinned and looked after by Browns Kitchen. That kind of access means everything as a documentary photographer. It’s how I capture the real, unposed stuff: the nervous laughter over morning coffee, the hugs no one saw coming, the midnight tequila shots (yes, that happened—and yes, there’s a photo going in this blog!).
Since 2024, we’ve been offering this kind of multi-day coverage as a package option—and it’s become one of our most popular for good reason. When you’re planning a whole weekend of connection, fun, and celebration, it just makes sense to have someone there who’s tuned into the full story—not just turning up for 10 hours on the day.
On the wedding day itself, everything just flowed. Alixis energy was electric, the bridal and groom’s mates were hilarious, and the wedding planner’s son—who also happened to be best man—was absolute ace. He had fun role of ‘Bride to be” for fun fake of first look. We all got on so well that by day three, I was basically just one of the gang with a camera.
The finalday, Emma, George’s mom came up to me and said:
“Now I get why Alix wanted you in the house—you were everywhere you needed to be, without being seen. Incredible.”
That meant a lot..
